Sue Ennis Obituary

Susan Ennis, Costume Designer Dies

Susan Ennis (57), a well- respected and vital member of the Chicago film community was killed in a motorcycle accident in August, 2009. On their way to a reunion in NY, Sue died instantly, her partner Dave survived with broken ribs.  A costume designer, and artist, Sue was best known for her “Illinois Lotto Ball” costumes, and huge feathered wings made for a commercial with Michael Jordan. Angels, wings and feathers, were recurring themes in Sue’s art as well.
Going to visit Sue at her studio was always an adventure. Projects such as “The giant purse”, killer tomatoes, bunnies, bears, cheeseburgers, sundaes, and dancing milk cartons; were there in the making.
You name it, and Sue could make it. Sue was a magician in the studio, and her sense of humor, combined with her inventiveness, and kind spirit, will be greatly missed by her many friends, family and film community.

There will be a memorial party to celebrate Sue’s life
