To quote Andy’s Jazz Club:
"Angel Spiccia, one of the youngest singers in the Chicago jazz scene, grew up in a home filled with music and at an early age developed love and appreciation for jazz and the beauty of lyrics. Her early influences were Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Sergio Mendes. Their classic style helped in forming her sense of delicate phrasing and natural sense of time. The list of influences grew as Angel became more involved, personally and academically, in the art of jazz performance but her voice is one that is rarely compared to just one person. While maintaining a uniqueness of her own, she shares qualities similar to the likes of Doris Day, Nancy Wilson, Diana Krall and Eva Cassidy. Angel’s activities have always centered in the music that, as a deeply dedicated artist, she now shares with her audience, connecting with her gifted sense of expression and refreshing musical honesty".
Having recently seen and heard Angel perform, I concur.
She is poised, lovely and really quite talented. She’s got it all!
